Who we are

What we collect

We collect only what an order actually needs, plus what the site needs to work:

Contact and delivery details you enter at checkout — name, email address, phone number, billing and shipping address.
Order details — the jigs and packs you bought, prices, order status and delivery tracking.
Account details, if you create an account — your email address and a securely hashed password. We never store your password itself.
Payment details are entered directly into our payment processor and are never received or stored on our servers. We keep only the card brand, the last four digits and the processor’s reference, so we can identify a payment for support or a refund.
Technical information your browser sends — IP address, browser and device type, and the pages you viewed — used to keep the site secure and working.
Your email address, if you ask to hear from us, and any message you send through a contact or wholesale enquiry form.

Why we use it

To take, process, pack and ship your order, and to tell you where it is.
To handle returns, refunds, warranty questions and support requests.
To detect and prevent fraud, abuse and unauthorised access.
To meet our tax, accounting and other legal obligations.
To send you marketing email — only if you asked for it, and only until you unsubscribe.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies. Some are strictly necessary — they keep your cart together between pages, keep you signed in, and protect forms against cross-site request forgery. The site does not work without them.

Any analytics or advertising cookies are optional and are set only where you have agreed to them. You can clear or block cookies in your browser at any time; blocking the necessary ones will stop checkout from working.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else’s advertising.

We share only what is needed with the service providers that make an order happen — our payment processor, our shipping carriers, our email provider and our hosting provider — each of whom may use it only to perform that service for us. We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our customers or the public.

How long we keep it

Order and transaction records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires, typically seven years. Account information is kept while your account is open. Marketing contact details are kept until you unsubscribe. Everything else is kept only as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected for.

How we protect it

The site is served over HTTPS, passwords are stored only as salted hashes, payment card data never reaches our servers, and access to customer records is limited to the people who need it to run the store. No system is perfectly secure, but we take these obligations seriously and review them regularly.

Your rights and choices

You can ask us to give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, and you can object to or restrict how we use it. Depending on where you live — California and several other states, in particular — you may also have the right to know what we collect, to opt out of any sale or sharing (we do neither), and not to be treated differently for exercising these rights. Email George@TheFishHawkJig.com and we will respond within the time the law allows. We may need to confirm your identity before we act on a request.

Every marketing email carries an unsubscribe link that works immediately. Transactional email about an order you placed is not marketing and will still be sent.

Children

This store is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the store or the law changes. The current version is always on this page, with the date it last changed at the top. If a change materially affects you, we will say so clearly rather than relying on you to notice.
