Refund Policy
What we refund, how it is paid back, and how long it takes to reach you.

When a refund is issued
- When an authorised return arrives and passes inspection.
- When an item was damaged in transit, defective, or not what you ordered.
- When we cancel an order, or cannot fulfil it — a color that sells out before we ship, for example.
- When you cancel in time, under the Cancellation Policy.
How much comes back
A returned item is refunded at the price you paid for it, together with any sales tax charged on it.
The original shipping charge is refunded only when the return is our fault — a wrong, damaged or defective item, or an order we cancelled. On a change-of-mind return the outbound shipping is not refunded, and the return postage you paid is not reimbursed.
A discount applied across an order is apportioned across the items in it. If you return part of an order, the refund reflects what you actually paid for those items after the discount, not their list price.
We do not charge a restocking fee. An item that comes back fished, damaged or incomplete may be refused, or refunded in part to reflect its condition — we will always tell you why before we do that.
How it is paid
Refunds go back to the original payment method. We cannot refund to a different card, a different account, or as store credit unless you ask for store credit specifically.
How long it takes
We inspect returns as they arrive and issue the refund within 5 business days of receiving your parcel, and we email you the moment we do.
After that the timing belongs to your bank. Most refunds appear within 10 business days of being issued, though some card issuers take a full billing cycle. If it has been longer than that, contact your bank first, then us — send us the refund confirmation email and we will chase it.
Pre-orders and delayed shipments
Where an order is taken before stock is ready, we tell you the expected shipping window before you pay. If we cannot ship within that window we will contact you with a revised date and your right to cancel for a full refund, and if we do not hear back from you we will cancel and refund rather than hold your money against an open-ended delay.
Problems and disputes
If a refund is wrong, late, or you disagree with a deduction, email George@TheFishHawkJig.com with your order number and we will look at it properly. Please come to us before opening a chargeback — a dispute freezes the payment for weeks and we can almost always resolve it faster ourselves.
